PROPOSALS · TROMSØ
Proposal photography in Tromsø
I photograph proposals in the Arctic landscapes around Tromsø, from Fjellheisen in winter daylight to evenings under the Northern Lights when conditions allow. We plan discreetly in advance, with time for portraits after the proposal. A short film can be added to selected sessions.

A QUIET PLAN
The moment stays yours.
I help with the practical details so you can concentrate on asking the question.
Before the day, we agree on the general area, timing, meeting point, positioning, a simple signal and a practical backup. I stay discreet before the proposal and step in only after the moment has passed.
We choose the location and timing with light, wind, snow, road conditions, access and privacy in mind.

COMMISSIONS
Ways to plan the proposal
Fjellheisen
Short proposal sessions from €690
A short proposal and portrait session above Tromsø, planned around cable car access, the light and conditions on the mountain.
Private daylight
Private day commissions from €1,000
A longer, individually planned session in the Tromsø region, with time to explore the landscape, photograph the proposal and take portraits afterwards.
Northern Lights
Night commissions from €1,650
An evening session with flexible timing and locations, planned around darkness, weather and the chance of clear skies. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed.
Each commission is quoted according to the date, duration, location and film coverage. Transport is arranged separately and is not included in the commission fee.
For more elaborate proposals, I can help develop the idea and plan the setup. Creative direction and production are quoted separately.

PHOTO + FILM
Photography and a short film
You can book photography, film or both. For selected proposals, a short film can include movement in the landscape and sound recorded during the proposal. I plan the photography and filming together so both fit naturally into your session.
Optional proposal film from €700.

HOW IT WORKS
Planning your proposal
01
Tell me what you are planning
Share your preferred date or date range, whether the proposal is a surprise, and whether you are considering daylight, twilight or a Northern Lights evening.
02
We agree on the details
We choose the duration and general area, then agree on the meeting point, position, signal and any cover story needed to keep the plan discreet.
03
I prepare the final plan
I adjust the route and timing to the light, weather and winter road conditions, with a backup plan if needed.
04
You receive the finished work
Two or three preview photographs are normally delivered the following day. The complete gallery is prepared within four to five days. Film is included where commissioned.
WORKING IN THE ARCTIC
Experience in the Arctic.
Alongside my independent photography and film work, I guide and photograph Northern Lights tours with Greenlander. More than five winter seasons in the Tromsø region have taught me to plan for changing weather, winter roads and available light.
I choose a place that suits your proposal and the conditions on the day.
PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Before you enquire
Can you help me choose a proposal location?
Yes. I recommend the general area according to the season, available light, weather, access and how private you want the moment to feel. The exact location may be adjusted close to the date when conditions become clearer.
Can the proposal take place under the Northern Lights?
Yes, but the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Night commissions require flexibility in timing and location.
Will my partner notice the photographer?
The position, meeting point and a simple signal are agreed in advance. Depending on the setting, I may wait at the location, photograph from a distance or become visible only after the proposal.
What happens if the weather changes?
I monitor the conditions and adjust the timing, area or backup plan when needed. Your safety comes first.
Is transport included?
No. Clients may use their own or rental vehicle, in which case we meet at the agreed location and travel between locations in separate vehicles. Licensed private transport may be booked separately. I can recommend a provider and coordinate the photography route, but the transport agreement and payment are handled directly with the provider.
Can photography and film be combined?
Yes. A short film can be added to selected sessions and can include sound recorded during the proposal.
When are you based in Tromsø?
I am usually based in Tromsø from September to March. Availability varies, so it is best to enquire with a preferred date or date range.
How do I secure the commission?
A signed agreement and booking retainer are required to secure the date. The remaining balance and all cancellation or rescheduling terms are confirmed in the individual agreement.
Tell me what you are planning
Include your preferred date or date range, whether the proposal is a surprise, your preferred timing, the number of people and whether you are interested in photography, a short film or both.
